The contract is located alongside the River Tame. Severn Trent Water required some form of storm water retention and flooding alleviation. We were brought in with G F Tomlinsons to install 170 ton of pre-cast concrete culvert units to a depth of 7m deep.
Interlocking sheet piles were driven 9m into the ground in an area of 70m x 24m, this was then excavated and framed up using a heavy duty shoring system, the culverts were then installed ranging from 14t to 28t using a 220t crane.
This site is a high profile capital expenditure contract requiring stringent quality and health and safety checks.
